Rev. Irvin Blackburn is the founding Pastor of Jesus Is Lord Community Church.  Pastor Irvin has been married to Rita Johnston Blackburn since February 14, 1987.  They have 3 children and six grandchildren.  Pastor Irvin graduated from East Wilkes High School in 1977, Wilkes Community College in 1979, Western Carolina University in 1981, Hallelujah Acres Health Ministry Certification in 2008, and Foothills Christian College.  Pastor Irvin has been involved in a gospel music ministry since his teenage years, founding "The Christian Harmonizers", and later as a solo artist, performing at many church events and nursing homes regularly.  After struggling with the call to the Ministry for many years, Pastor Irvin announced his call to preach the Gospel and was ordained as a minister on Sept 14, 2012. 

Pastor Irvin and the late Rev. Fred Miller shared the dream of a traditional church with no paganism or false doctrine, and the dream is to be fulfilled at JILCC.  American Christians seem to have forgotten that God is HOLY, and that God does expect our church doctrines and bylaws to be correct, and not cause contradictions and inconsistencies in God's Holy Word that cause our children to stumble in their faith!

Jesus Is Lord Community Church is now in formative stages!  There is a place for YOU to serve God here, as we need members, qualified officers, educators, and ALL Christian people are commanded to disciple others in agape love!
