We must eliminate the false doctrine that contradicts itself, causing our children to "stumble in the faith" later! It is so sad that less than 10% of children raised in traditional churches return to church after atheistic college professors dissect and expose apparent errors in their faith while attending college:( The Bible becomes the perfect word of God WITH NO ERRORS only when doctrine AGREES with the Greek/Hebrew roots. As a young person growing up in church, I often wondered HOW ANYONE COULD BE FORGIVEN AND NOT WORTHY TO SERVE AT THE SAME TIME! I also wondered how any otherwise qualified person could be forgiven and not be worthy to be remarried (a second chance) in God's house, or to have their marriage ceremony performed by a Christian minister. Why did Christ promise forgiveness that is "whiter than snow, seventy times seven, and as far is the east is from the west," while the church proclaimed that divorcees, because of unfortunate circumstances, were disqualified from serving and not worthy even to serve fried chicken to the poor folks in the parking lot behind the building! My reseach has proven that GOD IS ALWAYS RIGHT, and that Grandpa's interpretation of a few awkwardly worded phrases in the English translation of the Bible was flawed! I hope you enjoy this sermon, and that you'll use the research materials below to study and correct YOUR doctrine! We must overcome the false doctrine, and teach others that God's word is PERFECT, and WITHOUT ERRORS, so our children who have dismissed it as a fictional book may accept Christ!
"Mias gunaikos" (Greek)- ORIGINAL "husband of one wife"- 1 Timothy 3:2, meaning "of, OR belonging to one woman"..POLYGAMY!!- NOT divorce! Christ forbade "putting away"(divorcing without the certificate required by law of Moses in Deuteronomy 24), saying the improperly divorced commit adultery. He did NOT forbid divorce! Google and search the Hebrew word "agunah", and you will learn the truth; that putting away and divorce were NOT the same thing. It was NOT considered a sin to divorce, to remarry if PROPERLY divorced, or to SERVE in the CHURCH! Otherwise qualified divorcees may be ORDAINED to serve; "equally yoked" divorcees may REMARRY at JILCC!
How about YOU? Do you have saving (trusting, childlike) faith? Do you doubt that God created, or MOST IMPORTANTLY, do you believe that Jesus Christ is God who died to save you from your sins? Billy Graham once speculated that only a small percentage of those who go to church are saved because only a small percentage have a desire to do things for God. So many seem to have confused going to church to socialize and be entertained with a true act of worship!
DO YOU WORSHIP HIM, or THEM? Worship becomes IDOLATRY when the people, place, life center, tradition, and related events become more important than DEMANDING that our doctrine be CORRECT, making our worship ACCEPTABLE to God! All of us must remember that GOD IS HOLY! Correct doctrine DOES matter, because errors in scriptures cause loved ones to stumble (not believe in God), prayers remain unanswered, or service receive no reward. James 4:17-Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. Is YOUR doctrine sin? Will the doctrine of YOUR church (for WHICH ALL OF US AS MEMBERS are held accountable by God) cause our little ones to "stumble in the faith"? Mark 9:42-"It were better for you that a millstone were hanged around your neck, and you were drowned in the depth of the sea". Ex. 20:1-Thou shalt have No other God's before me!
